The East Riding FA Men’s Senior representative side are in action this weekend as they take on Cheshire FA in the Northern Counties Seniors Competition.
This year’s competition also features West Riding FA and Liverpool FA with the final being held at the East Riding FA Roy West Centre if we progress.
As with previous seasons the East Riding FA will be represented by the most recent Humber Premier League Champions with Hedon Rangers this year’s representative. Cheshire FA Will be represented by Mersey Royal FC.
Hedon Rangers Club Secretary David Thompson said, “It came as a great honor to be asked to represent the East Riding FA in the Northern Counties Seniors Competition. Our Men’s First Team had its best ever season with us winning the Humber Premier League which also occurred during our 40th year anniversary celebrations. The club was formed back in 1982 with there being lot of hard work from a long list of volunteers which includes Rich Cooper and Kenny Harrison and we are now at the point where we have teams ranging from the U5 Academy right through to Veterans which gives us a total of 26 teams.”
Back after an absence of three years due to COVID the game is the first representative fixture the County has been involved in since 2018 and East Riding FA Cup Committee Chairman Doug Waterson is delighted to field a side; “This game represents a fantastic opportunity for Hedon Rangers and we are really pleased that they will be representing the county.”
The game will take place at the Syncreon Arena on Saturday 21st January, 2pm kick off and supporters are welcome to attend.
