After an absence of over five years, we are delighted to announce the return of the East Riding FA Coaching Conference. Open to all active and aspiring coaches in East Riding the conference will give attendees an insight why coaching is so important in grassroots football and what the journey from grassroots football to elite level coaching looks like.
Attendees will be given helpful hints, tips and ideas on how to make the environment you coach in both positive and enjoyable with information also provided on how we are supporting grassroots football coaches in East Riding.
The conference will take place on Monday 30th January at the University of Hulls Middleton Hall with confirmed speakers including Pete Sturgess, Dan Kelly and Michal Pujdak.
Pete Sturgess is the FA National lead coach in the 5 – 11 year old Foundation Phase and works across both the grassroots and professional game. Credited with designing and delivering the FA Advanced Youth Award Pete has played an integral role in developing the England DNA at this age group.
Pete is committed to ensuring that young players are exposed to a world class experience no matter what level they play at.
Michal Pujdak is the Assistant Head Coach at Leeds United U21’s and has tremendous experience of developing young people at clubs including Manchester United, Manchester City and Hull City.
The journey into the professional game though started in grassroots football started with him coaching sides in our county whilst also running several projects to help community cohesion in Hull.
Dan Kelly is the Head of Emerging Talent at Hull City Academy after joining the Tigers in 2019 from Exeter City. Dan is a holder of The FA Talent Management, Strategy & Leadership Level 4 qualification, as well as the UEFA A Licence & FA Youth Award coaching certificates and has previous coaching experience across a range of academy ages.
East Riding FA staff will be on hand to provide the latest updates on coach education in East Riding with details of upcoming workshops announced plus there will be a question and answer session at the end of the conference with guests including Pete Sturgess, Michal Pujdak. Dan Kelly and East Riding FA staff.
The fee for attending the conference is £5 with attendees receiving a special gift upon arrival. Light refreshments will also be provided.
