EAST RIDING FA MENS SENIOR CUP FINAL

LIV Supplies are the winners of this seasons Senior Men's Cup after defeating Pocklington Town in a pulsating cup final at the MKM Stadium.

The first ever all Humber Premier League Senior Men's Cup Final was being played at the MKM Stadium for the first time since 2019 and it was LIV Supplies who reigned supreme with Gareth Waterhouse's men defeating Pocklington Town 2-1 on a balmy evening in West hull.

An end to end first 45 minutes saw both sides come close to scoring with Carl Brewer and Luke Cranswick having the best of the chances for Pocklington. Callum Harrison was a constant threat to the Pocklington defence with his powerful forward play though but neither side could muster the all important first goal in an even first half.

The second half started at a frenetic pace with both sides giving away possession on a number of occasions. It was LIV Supplies though who found their composure first though with the opening goal of the evening coming on minute 53.

A delightful ball into the box left Callum Harrison with the simple task of slotting the ball into the net much to the delight of the enthusiastic LIV Supplies supporters.

A resolute Pocklington side regrouped after conceding but it was LIV who responded best to scoring with the cool heads of Adam Ali and Leon Smith bringing much needed control to the game.

The pace of Josh Vickers was starting to cause all sorts of problems for the Pocklington rear guard as the game went on and it was he who finished a sublime passage of attacking play to put LIV Supplies 2-0 up after 64 minutes.

And although LIV were starting to control the game it was Pocklington who managed to score next with Ryan Caulfield getting on the end of a sumptuous cross to head the ball in from 5 yards out.

With just seven minutes of normal time remaining it was game on. Jake Dunham did go close late on for Pock but the comeback was curtailed in the 90th minute when Stuart Lawson received his marching orders after receiving his second yellow card of the game.

The referees whistle brought an end to play and it was indeed LIV Supplies who came out on top in a thoroughly entertaining Men's Senior Cup Final.
