Casual league champions confirmed
East Riding FA Casual League 2021 / 2022
Congratulations to North Hull Sport Network FC (NHSN FC) who have been crowned champions of the the first ever East Riding FA Casual League.
After playing seven games this season NHSN FC tasted defeat on just one occasion with the side racking up a impressive goal difference of plus 35.
Launched back September 2021 the league caters for the growing number of teams who play either recreationally or to raise money for charity. Games are played on a monthly basis with the University of Hull hosting all the league fixtures on their artificial 3G pitch playing surface. Participating teams include Lads FC, Cast United, Men City, Man v Fat, St Andrews FC and Hull University Teaching Hospital. When asked why he entered a team into into the league Manager Craig McFadyen said; "The North Hull Sports Network entered a team into the league with the aim of providing much needed physical activity and staff wellbeing opportunities for school staff. Working in education can at times be very intense and all consuming and for many of our team. Many of our team haven’t strapped their boots on for years, therefore, playing in a league that had a shared, friendly but competitive ethos was important for us."
Clubs and Participation Development Officer Chris Johnson said; "We are delighted that we can now offer all our affiliated teams a competition format that suits their playing needs. The East Riding FA Casual Football League provides a competitive structure for all our recreational and charity football teams whilst complimenting the regions existing affiliated leagues. Playing once a month also means that teams can continue to arrange fixtures against sides from within and outside the area."
The league will now enjoy a short break before restarting in July.
