Over £70,000 worth of support provided for clubs in our county

Sport England Community Emergency Fund

Clubs across the County have been awarded funds from the Sport England Emergency Community Relief Fund

27 clubs have benefited from over £70,000 worth of investment after successfully applying to the Sport England Emergency Community Relief Fund. The fund was created to support clubs who are experiencing short term financial hardship or the ceasing of operations due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis. Individual grants range from £300 to £10,000 and will be used to cover areas such as rent, utilities and equipment hire.

Clubs and Participation Development Officer Chris Johnson said "We are delighted that so many of our member clubs have been successful in their applications. This is a challenging time for all of us, with charities and sports organisations having suffered a great deal of financial difficultly. The funds from Sport England's Community Emergency Fund will help to ensure these clubs can continue to provide football opportunities once grassroots football is able to return”.
