In memory of Kris Blakeston
Hull City Academy
The East Riding FA were shocked and saddend to hear of the passing of Hull City Academy Coach Kris Blakeston following his short battle with cancer.
Kris was one of the longest-serving members of staff at the Academy and has worked with many players from our county during this time. Kris was popular member of the local football scene and was a champion of Grassroots Football.
He made a huge impact on the lives of so many through his work – both players who have gone on to enjoy careers in the game and those that have pursued other paths away from football.
Kris will be sadly missed by everyone involved in Grassroots Football and we would like to pass on our thoughts and heartfelt condolences to Kris’ family and friends.
As a result of Kris's tragic passing the East Riding Senior Cup game between Hall Roads and the Hull City Academy which was scheduled to take place at Haworth Park was called off at the request of Hull City Academy. As yet no decision has been made on the rescheduling of the fixture.
