Opportunity to become a qualified Referee in 2020!

The East Riding County FA is excited to announce that they will be running a Female Referee Course in 2020!

We currently have a number of females refereeing within the County across the different leagues and we would like to add to this number and give more women and girls aged 14+ the opportunity to become a qualified referee.

The course that starts in March will be delivered by a female tutor, and will be run at a reduced cost of £50.00

The course dates are as follows:

Introduction Evening  Monday 2nd March 2020   7pm-9pm  East Riding County FA
Full Day of the Course Saturday 7th March 2020   9:30am-4:30pm   East Riding County FA

We spoke to a number of our female referees within the County about what they enjoy about refereeing, they enjoy it for a number of reasons including;

  • Meeting new people along the way, and being part of a refereeing network, who are all there to support them in their refereeing.
  • It's a great way of earning some money doing something they enjoy.
  • Refereeing has helped them as a player as they understand the game and the laws more.
  • Refereeing at different levels and in different leagues.
  • Helping young people understand the laws of the game & playing football in a fun safe environment.
  • Sharing my passion for the game.

Does this sound like something you would like to get involved in & take that step to becoming a qualified referee? If so have a look at the course content and book your place today!

Kirsty Leake Women and Girl’s Football Development Officer at the East Riding County FA said

“ We have lots of playing opportunities for females in the County, and there has been an increase in the number of female coaches over the last few years, we have done this through providing opportunities solely for females.  We wanted to replicate this offer for females in the County to become a qualified official to support the development of grassroots football."
"This course is a great opportunity for anyone in the County looking to start their refereeing journey, and we are excited to be able to deliver this with a female tutor and help increase the number of female officials in the East Riding.”
