"I started my role as Referee Development Officer in July 2019 after having a slight change to my previous role. Along with my role as RDO I also take up Club Services Administration duties which largely entails supporting clubs with their Charter Standard Annual Health Check process throughout the year. I am also an active Level 4 Referee and have been refereeing for 6 years now. Here at the ERCFA we are fortunate to have a wide range of volunteers which is identified by the newly formed Referee Development Team to support the development of all referees in the East Riding and this is chaired by Ian Blanchard. As a team, we always we aim to have a positive impact on all fronts of referee development and we trust you will contact us should there be anything we can support you with."

As an East Riding FA Referee you will have access to all the training and support needed to do exactly this and take you as far as you want to go in your refereeing career.

Whether that's officiating in local leagues or in the Premier League, we're here to support you every step of the way. Explore this section to learn more about the training and development opportunities available to you.

Development Days

Development Days are available for all East Riding FA Referees. Similar to the In-Service training, a number of drills are delivered by Quality FA Referee Tutors and covering a wide range of topics with the aim of ensuring all referees are comfortable with every aspect of officiating.

Development Groups

Development groups are a great way for referees to gain knowledge, experience and techniques to aid their refereeing careers. Development groups have enabled referees to progress quickly and those that have impressed with their professionalism, attitude, performance and commitment have certainly seen the benefits of belonging to one.

Cup Final Evening

Cup Final evening is a chance for officials that have been appointed to East Riding FA Cup Finals to meet their colleagues and take part in a number of scenarios aimed at making sure they are ready for their final. The evenings usually involve a Guest Speaker and are also a good chance for referees to share best practice and exchange previous cup final experiences.

East Riding FA Referee Workshops

Need advice on the updates to the laws of the game? Referee workshops are the perfect way to do all this and more. We have a wide range of workshops planned at covering all aspects of the game. Upcoming workshops will appear in our 'Upcoming events' section below.
