EAST RIDING FA UNSUNG HERO OF THE MONTH – September 2023

The East Riding FA Unsung Hero of the Month award recognizes individuals in our county who are going above and beyond to create a fun, safe, and inclusive environment for people to play and enjoy football.

We know that grassroots football in our county is supported by an amazing group of people who put their heart and soul into supporting the game for the benefit of others. This award is our way of recognizing and celebrating their efforts.

The winner of this month’s award is Chris Webb.

Chris has been volunteering at Bridlington Town for over twenty-five years and is a well like liked and popular figure down at Queensgate.

Serving the club as both the turnstile operator and safety officer Chris is credited with making matchdays at the Seasiders a fun and safe experience.

Its not just on a matchday where Chris’s contribution is appreciated though. He also plays a key role in making sure that the club has all the various policies and procedures in place to ensure spectator safety is prioritised.

The demands placed on Chris are sometimes great based on the level of football that Bridlington’s senior men’s side play at. Chris can always be relied upon though and he takes great pleasure in being able to serve his hometown club.

Renowned for his positivise attitude and his willingness to work hard Chris is a true grassroots football hero and deserves to be recognised.

East Riding FA participation and Communications Officer Chris Johnson said’ We are delighted to present Chris with this month’s Unsung Hero award. Chris does a fantastic job at Bridlington Town and football in our county is indebted to people like him.”
