Apply to host an SSE Wildcats Girls Football Centre in 2018
In 2017 in partnership with the energy firm SSE, The FA launched a pilot programme called SSE Wildcats. These were created to contribute towards The FA target of doubling female participation.
SSE Wildcats centres offer sessions for the novice girl aged 5-11 with the emphasis on fun, friends and fitness. 199 centres were created across the country with 3 running in the East Riding.
We are excited to announce that SSE and The FA have committed to quadrupling the number of centres for 2018 to provide more opportunities for girls to get involved in football.
With the increase in the number of centres across the County we are taking expressions of interest from anyone who would like to host a SSE Wildcats centre from clubs, to leagues, schools, colleges or private organisations, if you are interested in hosting a centre, please get in touch with our Women and Girls Football Development Officer Kirsty Leake – Kirsty.leake@eastridingfa.com 01482 221158.
Each centre will receive £900 and 30 Nike footballs to deliver for a minimum of 16 weeks. The centres will be expected to charge a maximum of £3 per girl to allow the centre to continue once the funding has been used.

2 x FA Licensed coaches |
Must hold a minimum of FA Level 1 (age 18+) with an in date FA CRC, FA Safeguarding Children and FA Emergency Aid qualification |

2 x Volunteers |
The minimum age for a volunteer is 14, where the volunteer is under 16 they must have parental consent to volunteer, volunteers under the age of 18 must be supervised at all times. If volunteers are 18 or over they must hold an in date FA CRC, FA Safeguarding and FA Emergency aid |

1 x Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO) |
Can be an existing staff member if appropriately trained & FA CRC compliant. Your DSO is responsible for ensuring safeguards are in place and maintained effectively. All staff, parents & carers and players must be made aware as to whom this person is and how to contact them. This person must have attended The FA Welfare Officer Workshop (WOW) or PL/EFL equivalent DSO training |

It is desirable for volunteers/activators to have experience delivering football to girls ages 5-11. In a bid to increase the number of role models within football and meet the demographic of participants, at least one volunteer/activator must be female |
