DURHAM COUNTY FA         4

The East Riding went behind in the 2nd minute when a cross from Callum Challinor was headed

home from close range by Connor Lowes. But the lead only lasted  4 minutes as Luke Sellars put  Ombeni Ruhanduka through on goal and he made no mistake with his clinical finish. The dangerous Lowes then was denied by a fine save by keeper Ollie Thane and he had another chance in the 10th minute when meeting a cross from Jon Phoenix only to head the ball over the bar. The East Riding’s next opportunity came in the 25th minute when Ombeni Ruhanduka’s angled drive just missed the target. 2 minutes later the hosts went ahead when Jack Tranmer’s cross was headed powerfully into the net by Jack Walters. But a  lack of concentration just before half time saw Durham reach the interval all square. Lowes pounced to score when the Riding failed to clear the ball from the penalty area and then within a minute James Appleby headed in from Jack Gurr’s pin point cross.

Durham dominated the second half and scored what proved to be the winning goal in the 60th minute when Challinor headed in a corner kick from Ryan Cummings.

After the game, the players were presented with  plaques for representing the County and Matty Thomson received the Karl Henry Memorial Trophy for the Player of the Season.
