Course Programme

Full Basic Referee Course. The East Riding FA holds several courses throughout the year and will involve practical training followed by a test on the Laws of Association Football and an examination which involves watching a theory DVD.

On completing units 1-4, you become a Level 9 trainee referee. Following the completion of officiating 5, 11v11 games or 6 9v9 games and the final unit of successfully passing the examination to obtain qualified status, you will be re-classified as level 8 if you are 14-15 and level 7 if you have reached 16 years or over.

It is important to note that you must attend all the dates of the course and you have not passed the course until you have completed your 5 matches as a referee and attended a call back meeting.

  • County FA will arrange your 5 games prior to or at the successful completion of Unit 4

  • A certificate of qualification… following an initial five 11v11 or 9v9 games and the successful passing of a final examination on the Laws of the Game
