CELEBRATING disabILITY football in East Riding.

#ALLPLAYMONTH

1st December - 31st December 2023

We believe that disabled people should have the choice to be able to play mainstream football wherever possible. However, we realise that some disabled players may be better provided for in ‘pan-disability’ or ‘impairment-specific’ football either on a temporary or permanent basis.

From grassroots to the international game, our aim is to create and sustain a culture across the sport where disabled people have access to all opportunities and feel they truly belong, both on and off the pitch.

All Play Month will champion where disabled people in East Riding can participate in grassroots football and shine a light on existing players, volunteers and clubs. During All Play Month we will also promote the England Para Lions performance pathway and what opportunities currently exist to play for England.

East Riding FA Participation (Inclusion) Officer Rebeca Bolton said” There is already a fantastic number of opportunities for disabled people to play football in our county, we recognise though that more can be done to extend provision across the whole region and we know that there is more work to be done to make our existing grassroots football clubs fully inclusive."

A key priority for All Play Month is to celebrate the fantastic work that is already going on across the County. East Riding FA CEO Adam Lowthorpe said, "We are indebted to the growing army of grassroots football volunteers who are already delivering disability specific football. We are also thankful to the clubs in our county who are fully inclusive and provide opportunities for disabled people to play football in East Riding".
