Paul Grainger and Peter Dawson

Tribute

East Riding FA
Peter Dawson and Paul Grainger

Over the last couple of days the East Riding FA has received the sad news that two members of the County FA's Football Family has sadly passed away.

Paul Grainger was a much loved member of the local community in Bridlington and was the current manager of East Riding County League side Telegraph FC. Paul had also previously devoted many hours of time to coaching youth teams at Burlington Jackdaws and Bridlington Rangers.

Peter Dawson was a member of the Hull and District Youth Football League and along wife his wife was instrumental in the setting up of mini soccer in our County. More recently Peter was a well known figure at the Youth League Cup Finals and was always happy to support the Cup presentations.

Both Paul and Peter will be sadly missed by everybody involved in Grassroots Football in our County with their legacy sure to live long in the memories of everybody who knew them. The dedication, commitment and effort Paul and Peter gave to supporting Grassroots Football will be sorely missed as will their presence on the sidelines.

The loss of two dedicated individuals such as Paul and Peter is a timely reminder of the importance and value of volunteers in Grassroots Football.

The East Riding FA would like to pass on its condolences to the friends, family and colleagues of Paul and Peter and also to thank everyone in our community who volunteers their time to support Grassroots Football.
