Regional Talent Clubs - Trial Dates announced for 2017/2018 season

Dates have been announced for the Regional Talent Clubs within our region.

The Regional Talent Clubs form part of the FA Girls Talent Pathway.

The FA Girls’ England Talent Pathway allows female players opportunities to access appropriate levels of coaching and support throughout the talent pathway, enabling the programme to reach our ultimate goal, in producing elite English female players to compete on the world stage.

The structure in place aims to support in the identification, development and progression of players with the potential and aspiration to play for the England Women’s Senior team.

The graphic below shows a clear pathway that caters for the needs of the player, with each stage specifically designed to ensure appropriate playing opportunities are in place:

There are 4 Regional Talent Clubs within our region:

York City FC Foundation (Tier 1)
Leeds United Foundation (Tier 1)
Sheffield United (Tier 2)
Doncaster Rovers Belles (Tier 3)

The FA RTC eligible cut off dates for each age group are aligned with school years.

U10 – Players born between 1^st September 2007 and 31^st August 2009
U12 – Players born between 1^st September 2005 and 31^st August 2007
U14 – Players born between 1^st September 2003 and 31^st August 2005
U16 – Players born between 1^st September 2001 and 31^st August 2003

York City FC Foundation Regional Talent Club

Trials for all age groups will be held at their training facilities at York St John University on:

Saturday 10th June 2017
Saturday 17th June 2017
Saturday 24th June 2017

All players must also meet the following criteria:

Player's home postcode must be within 1 hour 30 minutes travel time of our RTC base post code of YO23 2BB
Players must have an English parent or an English grandparent or must have been educated in England for at least five consecutive years

Leeds United Foundation Regional Talent Club

Trials for all age groups will be held in June and the RTC season will commence in August 2017. Anyone who is unsuccessful, will be offered the opportunity to trial for our Shadow Squad which feeds into our RTC programme where progression of players will be monitored over the season.

The FA RTC eligible age groups and cut off dates for the different age groups run from the 1st September each year to align with school years.

We offer the opportunity to trial for places in the following age groups:

U10s
U12s
U14s
U16s

To apply you must meet all these criteria:

You must have been born between 1st September 2001 and 31st August 2009 to be eligible for the RTC trials/squads
You must have an English parent or an English grandparent OR you must have been educated in England for at least five consecutive years
