You may not even realise that the things you consider to be every day practice are ideas that could be adopted by others.
If you have an idea that you would like to share with others please email a member of the development staff on the details below with a short description and any supporting documents that you may have.
Please note that all suggestions will be reviewed by a member of staff to ensure that they are suitable, and the East Riding County FA reserve the right to refuse to publicise articles if they are deemed to be inappropriate.
Here are some ideas of areas in which you may have some examples of good practice:
Funding
Fundraising: How do you boost income for your club e.g. bag-packing, sponsored walks.
Sponsorship: Have you secured any sponsorship from local businesses / organisations? How did you do it? What support do you receive?
Partnerships: What partnerships have you formed with other sports organisations, schools and businesses etc.? How has this helped you?
Player subs: How do you collect contributions from players e.g. Monthly direct debits, yearly fees. How has it proven successful?
Recruitment
Players: How do you recruit players to your club e.g. flyers, festivals, school-club links?
Coaches: How do you recruit coaches for new / existing teams? Are these generated from within the club e.g. parents / older players.
Volunteers: Have you created any specialist roles within your club? What are they? How have they proven successful? Where have you recruited volunteers from e.g. schools, university? How have you recruited them e.g. club website, flyers, posters.
Club Communication / Promotion
Communication: How do you communicate with everyone in your club e.g. parents, players, coaches, managers. Do you use newsletters, email distribution lists, club website? Who is responsible for this? Do you hold any annual events e.g. presentation evenings, trips to theme parks, festivals.
Club member support: How do you support the volunteers at your club e.g. coaches support group, introductory workshops, information packs/manuals, mentoring schemes/groups? How do you encourage and support young volunteers e.g. funding courses?
Facilities
How have you overcome problems relating to facilities e.g. lack of pitches? Have you created any unique partnerships that have been particularly beneficial?
Health and Safety / Welfare
Have you used any methods to prevent health and safety or welfare issues e.g. producing cards with welfare officer details to handout?
Do you have any current problems or difficulties in your club that you feel other may be able to help with? If so please contact a member of the development team on the details below and we will post it here to invite other clubs to offer suggestions.
