As you are aware part of your affiliation includes Public Liability Insurance cover.
This is provided by COBRA Corporate Solutions Ltd and covers your club in the event legal action is taken against your club or one of your members. Whilst remaining small the number of third party liability incidents that lead to a formal claim being made are on the increase. Many of these claims are made sometime after the event itself (please note that an injured party has 3 years after the incident to submit a claim by instructing legal representation).
As Cobra aim to provide the best possible defence to our clubs in the event of legal action they have requested that clubs complete the Football Incident Report Form in the event of a serious accident / incident occurring . Should then the injured party take action against your club you will have documentation taken at the event which may help the defence in court.
Completed forms should be kept for your own records and sent directly to Cobra. I appreciate your co – operation and please contact the East Riding County FA offices should you have any questions.
