Refereeing

Referees perform a vital role in the game, and with the growth in the popularity of football, particularly for women and children, the demand for match officials is increasing.

EAST RIDING FA offer courses for new referees throughout the year. If you are interested in becoming a Referee or just want to broaden your knowledge to increase your enjoyment of the Game, please read on.......

East Riding County Football Association run basic refereeing courses throughout the year and this season major changes have been introduced by The FA, which means the format for courses has been completely re-vamped. The new modular type of courses will be predominately held over weekends, with a call back session at a pre-advised date. Evening only courses are also available to those who are unable to attend the weekend courses. The new modular type of courses will involve some pre-course work being undertaken by the potential attendee before attending the course.

The first stage involved in becoming a referee is to register with your local County Football Association and the second stage is to attend a basic Referees Course.
