The Hull College Player Development Centre (PDC) provides extra training and support on top of grassroots clubs. Every player continues to play for their local grassroots club and receive one extra night of training and support from qualified and experienced coaches. Players are invited to play in friendly fixtures against other PDC's which allows players to show their true potential in a match situtation. The PDC is designed to bridge the gap between grassroots football and Centre of Excellence football.
Hull College have been involved in The FA's Excellence Programme for female players across Hull and East Riding for seven years. The Player Development Centre, funded by the FA, is operated and supported by Hull College and is based at the Learning Zone within the KC Stadium. The Centre has to meet strict criteria outlined by the Football Association as this is the pathway that future England Internationals will come through.
The PDC is open to U11's, U13's, U15's and U17's age groups and training takes place on the 3G pitches at Longcroft School in Beverley on Monday nights. Two coaches work with each age group, both of which have a minimum Level 2 coaching qualification.
Clubs, schools and parents have the opportunity to nominate players for trials at the PDC.
