'Junior Kit Scheme Award – Victoria Dock Rangers U12 Girls
We were a brand new team for the 2008-09 season, and because we are part of a Charter Standard Club, we were able to apply for a brand new kit through the Junior Kit Scheme funded by the Football Foundation.
The application form was very straightforward to complete and all in all took 1 hour maximum to complete.
Our application was successful and we were informed we were to receive a voucher to the value of £400 to buy a new playing kit from the catalogue which was sent through.
The kit value was £250 approx. and we used the balance (£150) to buy new footballs, cones and bibs.
As with any new team, there are a lot of initial set up costs for which the money has to be found from somewhere.
This award was a fantastic help in setting us up for the season and the money the club would have spent was used to purchase rain jackets to really make the girls look the part.
