Development - take your skills to the next level

Football Futures

The Football Futures Leadership and Volunteering Programme (formally Step into Sport) aims to recruit, retain, develop and reward young leaders whilst providing a progressive pathway for the development of a skilled football workforce. The young leader is placed at the heart of the Football Futures programme choosing what, where and how they wish to volunteer in football across six themes. The programme is available to any young person aged between 12 and 22 who has an interest in getting involved in football leadership.

The Football Futures programme aims to provide a simple framework of coordinated opportunities to increase the potential for young people to participate in volunteering and leadership through football. It provides young people with the chance to increase their confidence as well as improve their skills, experience and knowledge in a football related environment.

Leaders in the programme will be offered support to gain football related qualifications such as the Level 1 in Coaching Football or refereeing qualifications. Young leaders can log their hours and be rewarded for reaching key volunteering milestones.

Volunteering opportunities exist in the following six areas:

1.) Coaching and Working with Teams

2.) Refereeing

3.) Running and Supporting Events

4.) Promoting the Game

5.) Respect Ambassador

6.) Running and Developing the Game

If you are between the ages of 12 and 22 and think that you would like to get involved in the programme, or you are currently volunteering and would like to be rewarded for the hours that you do please download and complete the attached registration form and return it to Gemma Thomas at the address supplied.
