The FA Tesco Skills Coaches are launching a Coach Mentoring Programme for the 2009/10 season and are looking for coaches to take part. Coaches signing up to the programme will receive support from one of the four Skills Coaches in the County as they are on hand to offer advice and guidance whilst observing session delivery at your club and providing session ideas to help individuals to meet their needs and aid their personal development. They will also have the opportunity to see the Skills Coaches at work pick up ideas and observe different coaching methods.
We are aware that coaches already give up a huge amount of their time to volunteer at clubs and that their spare time is very precious! Therefore the Programme is designed to have maximum benefit and effect with as little time commitment as possible. During the season there will be 3 in-service group events where coaches will have the opportunity to observe practical sessions and attend workshops which will give insights in to how players learn and develop. Coaches are only required to attend a minimum of one of these sessions as part of the programme. In addition coaches will receive one-on-one support from the skills coaches and they will be available to answer queries and offer advice whilst also providing the option to observe one of your coaching sessions in an environment in which you are comfortable to offer constructive tips and recommendations.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALTHOUGH THIS SCHEME IS AIMED AT COACHES WORKING WITH 5-11 YEAR OLDS THERE IS A SEPARATE PROGRAMME AVAILABLE ALL FEMALE COACHES REGARDLESS OF THE AGE GROUP WITH WHICH THEY ARE WORKING SO PLEASE COMPLETE AND RETURN THE FORM AND IT WILL BE DIRECTED TO THE CORRECT PERSON.
