Charter Standard Awards 2008

The Charter Standard scheme is a best practice guide that sets standards of coaching, administration and Child Protection for all clubs outside the Football League and Premier League. As a benchmark for quality it will improve the playing experience for all.

Each year the FA seeks to recognise the volunteers and clubs within grassroots football who go above and beyond to provide football opportunities within their community.

Each County in the country accepts nominations from its grassroots clubs in 6 categories, and the County FA then decides who will be its local winners. The regional manager of the 4 Yorkshire counties then decides who our regional winners are and these nominations then get sent off to the FA in London for them to decide upon National winners in each category.

The categories and the East Riding County FA winners for 2008 are listed below.

Charter Standard Category Winner

Club of the Year Costello FC *
Adult Club of the Year Easington United *
Development Club of the Year Hutton Cranswick United
Community Club of the Year Hessle Rangers

* These clubs have been selected as Regional winners and are awaiting a decision on 30th July 2008 to find out if they are to receive the National award.

The East Riding County Football Association would like to congratulate all winners for their efforts over the previous season.
